SPREADING HOPE

Pleased to meet you at these events …

By Eva-Maria McCormack

Often, our project work is taking place rather more behind the scenes. Yet we are thrilled to present Talking Hope and our vision for a new story on climate at as much as four (inter)national conferences and grass-roots events this week.

Talking Hope has been nominated and will be showcased as a Gamechanger in the Energy Transition by Heinrich Böll Stiftung at their conference Social Project Energy Transition. The conference will be opened with a key note by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck.

We are also contributing to the international Tropentag 2023 conference, staged at Humboldt-University Berlin, with a presentation on “Inequity, transformation and talking hope”, in which we outline solutions to build broader support for the sustainability transformation especially among marginalized and socially disadvantaged communities.

We are excited to meet representatives of community foundations across Europe to present and discuss the engagement of citizens on climate through solutions- rather than fear-based climate scenarios. This wonderful peer exchange is hosted by the European Community Foundation Initiative as part of their ECFI Climate Action Days in Berlin.

The Kreuzberger Kinderstiftung is doing amazing work to push for greater educational justice especially for young people from disadvantaged communities. Since Talking Hope is dedicated to the inclusion of all of society in shaping our future, we are particularly delighted that our founder has been invited to discuss why hope, social justice and democratic participation on climate are crucial to young people of all backgrounds.
