Panel discussion

„Peace – Hope – Responsibility“

Open Event by KAB Fulda e.V.
08.05.2025 I 4-5 PM I Universitätsplatz Fulda

What does hope mean in a world marked by crises, war, and climate change? To mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, KAB Fulda invites you to a special panel discussion under the theme “Peace – Hope – Responsibility.”

Our founder Eva-Maria McCormack will join Bishop Dr. Michael Gerber and Nicolai Raab of Sehnseits e.V., to explore how reflecting on the past can help guide our actions in the present and shape a more just and sustainable future. Central to the discussion will be the question of how we can strengthen social cohesion, democratic culture, and personal responsibility in turbulent times.

Why We’re Taking Part
As an organization committed to socially inclusive climate justice, strong democracy, and social equity, we are honored to take part in this important event. Our Manifesto for Hope outlines the role hope plays in our work – not as a vague feeling, but as a guiding principle for societal change. May 8 reminds us that peace and democracy are not givens – and that hope is not naïve, but a courageous call to take responsibility.

We’re looking forward to a thought-provoking exchange.
